Action 3 Manual Wheelchair is a highly configurable, lightweight folding wheelchair,

available in both self-propel, transit and one-arm drive models.

One-arm drive Model is for a patient who has had a stroke and cannot function in a standard wheelchair.

The Action 3 Manual Wheelchair folds easily to economize on storage space in the home

and for easy transportation in the boot of the car.

The Action 3 NG is designed to be adaptable, modular, and adjustable.

This lightweight wheelchair from the Invacare range

(14.5kg average) features swing in/out removable leg rests,

7.5kg without legrest, armrest and rear wheels

and three types of removable arm sides, a choice of different backrest types, rear wheel sizes and styles.

The Action 3 Lightweight Manual wheelchair continues the Action family tradition of excellence with its improved functionality,

durability, and portability with a colour choice of 4 frame colours and a bi-material seat back cover.

Self-Propel – Suitable for individuals with some upper body strength and who have the

capacity to propel themselves or occasionally self-propel.

have use of one side of their upper body.

The suitability of each model above is a very brief guide

to give an understanding of how diverse the Action 3NG can be

Info on the One Arm Drive

One-arm drive systems for manual wheelchairs are for people who would prefer the

advantages offered by lightweight, folding manual wheelchairs. You can use One-arm drive systems on either the right-hand side of the wheelchair or the left-hand side of the wheelchair if

the user has good strength and agility on that side.

The one-arm lever drive system is a lever mounted to the front caster area of the wheelchair with linkages back to the rear wheel of the chair.

The lever has forward, neutral, and reverse settings. The lever is “pumped” forward and back while in gear.

The chair moves in the direction chosen.

The neutral setting on the One-arm lever is used when a caregiver pushes the wheelchair.

To slow, stop or park a one-arm drive wheelchair, the user will pull the lever as far back as possible

while in neutral to lock the wheel locks. To steer a lever-style one-arm drive, the user turns the lever in the direction they want, and the casters steer the chair in that direction.

The caster on the lever side of the wheelchair does not freely turn left and right as it would on

a conventional drive manual wheelchair.

The direction of the wheelchair is adjusted when the user manipulates the lever while the chair is in motion.

The lever can be “pumped” during a turn

regardless of the direction chosen to maintain speed and momentum. The chair turns easier

while some speed is attained as it can be more difficult to turn at slower speeds.
